Symposium visitors, people interested in glass, students and schools have a unique opportunity to try out work with glass from various perspectives. Workshops are focused on sub-skills important for working with glass. Practical acquaintance with various materials and techniques which are directly related to the craft of glass engraving. All instructors will emphasize understanding of the relationship between matter, shape, line and equipment. If an engraver wants to achieve uniqueness and quality of his work, he will necessarily come across those basic conditions. Suitable for children, pupils and students, graduates and adults, parents, grandparents, artists and craftsmen, interested and laymen. After introduction of the safety rules, the participants will focus on a particular piece of work using a selected technique. At the end of the whole process, the workshop participants should be holding a unique work of art in their hands. In a four-hour block, all the curious and creative, or those who want to relax doing creative work, can get inspired and learn from experience of specialists leading the workshops – stars of the field.

Jaroslava Votrubová
World-renown glass artists, graduate of the legendary glass studio headed by prof. Stanislav Libenský at Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. This glass artist is known for her imaginative illustrations of her fantasy world. Using a specific technique – engraving on overlayed glass – she creates unique litophanies.
Klára Horáčková
A remarkable and varied personality of contemporary European glassmaking, for whom the work of glass has become an endless path of invention and transformation of artistic expression, not neglecting the traditional craft of Czech glassmaking. After the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Kamenický Šenov, she graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where she has long been pedagogically active at the Glass Studio there.
Jaroslav Šára
He has been actively involved in engraving symposiums since their beginnings when he was studying glass engraving at Secondary School of Glassmaking in Kamenický Šenov and in Nový Bor. Since graduating at Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně
University in Ústí nad Labem, he has been focusing on the traditional glass technique of engraving. He uses this technique in designing contemporary glassware, lights and architecture realizations. He also designs for other fields of applied art and glass design. In his art he builds on the fruitful tradition of the region. At the same time he aims at innovative use of engraved glass technology in new contexts.
Věra Mauricová
After graduating from the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Kamenický Šenov, in the glass engraving department under ak. mal. Josef Kochrda, she worked in the glass industry in the field of production and development. She has also been the designer of Artel Glass LLC. In 2000, she founded BERKANA, which is engaged in the production of hand-made glass. In her work she tries to combine traditional craft with contemporary technologies and materials.
Jaroslav Chramosta
He graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Turnov, specializing in plastic and sheet metal engraving, and the Higher Technical School in Jablonec nad Nisou, the field of minted coins and medals. Then he studied in the studio of Metal and Jewelry under Prof. V. K. Novák at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design
in Prague. In his work he combines several disciplines. His realizations appear both in architecture and public space. He is also involved in design, not neglecting focus on craftsmanship and free creation.
Libor Novotný
After studying at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Železný Brod, he graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava, where he finished his studies in the Studio of Intermediate Forms. These two different artistic approaches are transformed into glass interventions or gallery installations. The spectator is thus drawn into the discourse between the use of classical and traditional material and author’s original approach.
Pavel Vydra
Master of engraved glass. The graduate of the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Kamenický Šenov has been committed to this unique craft all his life. Not only in his own work, but also as an implementer of art designs of other glass artists. He hands down his practical experience to other people interested in this field. He has been participating in the engraving symposium in Kamenický Šenov since its beginnings.
Hannif Lehmann
A painter, illustrator and graphic designer, has drawn attention with his depiction of the everyday life since the beginning of the 1990s when he published his first book on graphic art (1994). Already in 1996 he published another book of graphics, this time in his own publishing house widukind-press Dresden. He deepened his knowledge of the basics of typography and book production under professor Horst Schuster. Since 1998 he has been focusing on his own work. He participated in a number of exhibitions in Europe.
